What's Happening in Davenport - Community Events
There is no way you live in the Quad Cities and you haven't heard of The Bix 7, even if you aren't a runner. And that's because this race consumes the city of Davenport all weekend long with fun activities for all! But back to the race. The course for this 7-mile race begins at the steep and long Brady Street Hill. After you conquer the hill racers fly through the historic McClellan Heights neighborhood which is also a bit hilly in its own right! If not the type who wants to run a race, come cheer on those who are battling it out for their age groups, or just out to have a good time! There is also a 2-mile race called the Quick Bix that is a great alternative to the full race. For those who are really in for a challenge, you should look into signing up for the Brady Street Sprints, the name says it all.

Just Because is a beautiful store with an equally beautiful story. Beverly the owner of Just Because was looking to find a career she loved but also didn't want to sacrifice time with her children. Just Because has been in other Iowa Cities before settling into the Village of East Davenport like Blue Grass and Muscatine. In 2017 Just Because moved to Davenport and has been selling furniture, home decor, books, children's items, and accessories ever since!

What's Happening in Davenport - Restaurants
Davenport, Iowa makes up 1/4 of what is referred to as the Quad Cities. Davenport is located along the Mississippi River, and because of this, it has had a vast industrious history. This history is clear even today as you walk through the downtown area or visit the Village of East Davenport. The buildings and homes in the area are a delightful mix of old and new, with many of the older homes restored back into their former glory. The same can be said about many of the dining establishments in the area. So many of the restaurants are housed in renovated buildings that were meticulously restored and converted to places we now frequent.
