Consistently voted number one in the Midwest for years, Whitey's Ice Cream is a Quad City treat you do not want to miss out on! Established in 1933 by Chester "Whitey" Lundgren, Whitey's grew to be a household name through its second owners, the Tunbergs. A second store was added in 1977, and since then the business has grown to 10 locations, plus a Wholesale Department, which distributes the ice cream to grocery stores across Iowa, Illinois, and Minnesota. According to their website, the Tunbergs credit the success of Whitey's Ice Cream to "a quality product, a clean environment, fair prices, and a knowledgeable, friendly staff."
