Anyone who has met, or had the privilege of doing business with Charles A. Ruhl would agree that he had a special way with people. "Chuck," as he was known by most, had a natural ability of making everyone he met feel significant. "He could make anyone feel like they were the most important person in the world," said Caroline Ruhl, President of Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors and daughter of Chuck. "Anywhere he went, he immediately made great friends with people." Chuck passed away on Monday, December 8th at his Bettendorf home. Although some will say that the greatest legacy he left behind is in the real estate business; those who knew Chuck best will remember his big heart, charming demeanor and that he loved a good scotch while talking about life and family. He was a family man, a humanitarian, a philanthropist and a one-of-a-kind businessman. As we say goodbye to the third generation owner of the family business, we will not only remember how significant Chuck made us all feel, but how important he was to all of us. Chuck will be dearly missed, but never forgotten. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, December 13th at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Cathedral. A visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th from 3:30-6:30pm at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home in Davenport. Click here to see the obituary.
