If giving were a competition, Olivia Egert would definitely place. Olivia, daughter of Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors sales associate, Penny Egert, is competing in the Miss Blackhawk Valley Pre-Teen competition this weekend, but her real passion is giving back to those in her community. "Olivia is honestly fundraising 24/7!" Penny said. "She plays piano at nursing homes, collects towels for the humane society, sets up lemonades stands and even clips coupons for the Geneseo Food Pantry." Last month, Olivia raised $1,000.31 for the Children's Miracle Network at a yard and bake sale during the Geneseo city-wide yard sale. By selling clothing, sporting goods, household items and having a bake sale, she was able to beat her goal of $500. "Thanks so much for helping dreams come true!" said Olivia. "These experiences have changed my life." Through the Miss Blackhawk Pre-Teen and Miss America programs, Olivia has also created her own cause called Love In Volumes (LIV), that encourages individuals to give back to their communities. "Our children are our future," said Caroline Ruhl, President of Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors. "By having dedicated and passionate children like Olivia Egert, I am confident in the success of all of our communities."
