The Scenic Village of Thomson
The area along Route 84 is known as "the great river road - one of the most scenic routes in America," which is where the Village of Thomson, Illinois is situated. Upon driving to the little village that is less than 3 miles long, we couldn't agree more. If you want to see nature at its finest, come to Thomson. Known for its hunting and fishing, there is a wide variety of wildlife in Thomson. The village boasts about their abundance of duck, deer and turkey as well as their assortment of fish. Kept a secret for years, people now come all the way from Chicago, Ohio and Indiana just to try to catch bass swimming in the river.
