Every single local metropolitan area experienced a positive gain in five-year home appreciation, or the growth in value of your home over five-years. Averages ranged between 5.24% and 12.49% growth, with the highest five-year appreciation in Iowa City followed by Des Moines and the Quad Cities. Nationally, this is the 19th consecutive quarter where home prices appreciated. Comparing to this time last year, prices rose 5.7% with every state experiencing positive gains. With the current growth in appreciation, low interest rates and a strong seller's market in our region, right now could be an ideal time to consider upgrading to your dream home. Contact a Ruhl&Ruhl Realtor today! See the chart below for a side-by-side comparison of home prices across regions and the nation.
