Northwest Quadrant – Cedar Rapids Community

Living in Stoney Point offers contemporary suburban living, while the Ellis Harbor area offers houseboat docking for people that live on the river. Jefferson High School, part of the Cedar Rapids Community School District, is in this quadrant, as is the public schools headquarters.

Attractions and Entertainment

Cherry Hill Water Park: On weekends in the summer, visit the city’s largest aquatic center with access to slides, lap swimming, diving boards and more.

Ellis Park: This 416-acre park includes an 18-hole golf course with clubhouse, boat house harbor, boat ramps, multiple sports facilities and so much more.

Northwest Recreation Center: This center is the first municipal building specifically built for recreational programming in Cedar Rapids. The building is 16,000 square feet and includes a full-size gym, activity room, game room, and community room with dividers.

The Mother Mosque: This simple, one story wood frame prairie schoolhouse style building was completed in 1934. It was the first building designed and constructed as a house of worship for Muslims in America. It is also the oldest surviving place of worship for Muslims.
