“Hometown With a Vision”—The Eldridge, IA, Community

Eldridge is the perfect mix of small-town living with big city life just a couple of blocks down the way. Located minutes from Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline, East Moline, and Rock Island— and adjacent to Highway 61—you can be anywhere in the Quad Cities in no time.

Numerous parks, recreation trails, fitness centers, and excellent schools are scattered throughout Eldridge and the region is the perfect choice for both families and singles alike. Whether you’re growing your business or growing your family, Eldridge is growing in popularity as one of the best places to call home. In Eldridge, the city’s motto is, “We’re growing the future,” and we couldn’t agree more with that!

Starting with the formation of the Scott County Library System (a countywide network of libraries serving smaller communities in the area) in 1950—Eldridge began to grow—and fast. By 1956, the North Scott Community School District was established and by the late 1960s, the population had grown to more than 1,000 residents! With the creation of several industrial parks to encourage new business development, the city continued its upward trajectory, and today remains a still-thriving community with over 6,000 residents and businesses living, working, expanding, and exploring together.

Because of its proximity to both Davenport, Moline, and East Moline, Eldridge is basically a part of the Quad Cities. Younger residents and new houses and businesses continue to pop up all throughout the region, giving the city of Eldridge a diverse mix of things to do for both residents and visitors alike.

Eldridge is loved for its safety and the way it celebrates its residents. Close-knit and welcoming, residents rave about the cost of living, housing opportunities, and exciting nightlife. Due to its size, the commute time is very short—you can get anywhere in the city within 15 minutes or less—and although it has a small-town vibe (everyone knows your name, even if you’ve just landed in the area!), there are a multitude of ways to get your fill of “big city living” across the Quad Cities and surrounding areas.
