My name is Dan DePorter. I am 65 years old and have been selling real estate since the 1985. Having been raised on a farm and schooled in the city, I have friends and acquaintances in town and in the country. This puts me in a position of having many contacts and much experience in the Quad Citiy area with residential properties and in the country, selling farms, acreages and rural homes..

Growing up on the farm, I was raised to appreciate and respect family, neighbors, community and church. I feel that living and working on the farm gave me a unique look and appreciation for God's creation. My parents, neighbors and many experiences growing up, also taught to be proud of who I am. Not arrogant proud, but stand up for what you believe proud.

So here, I will add that I am a Christian man with a deep devotion to a God who loves me, and like a father He walks with me daily. From my faith experiences, I have been called on to speak to groups of people, physically help where needed or to just be an ear to help a friend move forward from a troubling situation. This is probably not something that you would expect to find on a person's Real Estate profile, but it is part of who I am.

I have served my community by being a Jaycee until I was 36, (maximum age allowed). I was a 4-H member and then leader as I maxed out at 18 years. When I farmed I was with the Farm Bureau's young farmers and on th Rock Island County Fair Board.

Other work experiences I have had are being a carpenter, working for 2 great residential home builder/developers in Rock Island County. Harold Ryckaert & John Bush. The experiences I have had working with these men have helped imensley in my Real Estate business, as I have been able to help my clients with concerns about a home purchase and/or give advise to a seller on what should be repaired or painted before putting a home on the market. 

I spent a few years on the Rock Island County Board of Review, where I learned how assessments are made and how taxpayers can have their assessment reviewed. I have never assessed a property, but hopefully educated many on how the assessment process works. My biggest take from this is have your property appraised at least every 4 years.

As a Realtor, I can do a Market analysis of your property to let you know what the Market says that your Real Estate value is. This is not a full blown appraisal, but at no cost, it can be the first step to filing a complaint or review of your property assessment. Call me for a CMA. 

I have also worked in the Auction field since 1983. I have an Ilinois State Auctioneer's License, and I have helped many with dispersement of Real Estate and personal property. My biggest take from this business is the hundreds of people hat I have meet & served. 

I feel that the training that I have received from my CE classes, seminars and the many work experiences I have ventured into has allowed me to meet, serve and make many friends. 

On a personal note, I am married to Lisa as of July of 2020, and now the Father of 6. Two are of mine and four are Lisa's . They range in age from 21 to 36 and they are all witty, intelligent and beautiful like their parents/step parents.

I have 2 grandchildren. Evelyn calls me Pa and is 4 years old, and  Decker James, who is new having been born in November. His parents have said that he will call me DanPa as he has 2 other Grandpa's already. That's OK, I can still work at being his favorite.

They all make me proud and are truly a great gift from God. I pray their dreams will bring them to and through many experiences, that they will know they are always loved by Lisa and Dan and that they work to know God better each day of their life. 

In Real Estate, some agents sell specific properties in specific areas. I feel fortunate to be asked to sell real estate in Rock Island, Henry and Mercer Counties in Illinois. My license is in Illinois and I can sell anywhere in the state, but my service contacts and experiences working with the governments in these 3 counties is where I try to stay.

I have sold farms, homes with acreages, homes in the country and in town. I have also sold small commercial properties.

As I have grown in the real estate field, my mind set has gone from making a big commission to how can I best serve my client. I credit Ruhl & Ruhl for moving me to this change as there big push to their agents is definitely service. 

My life is busy, and enjoyable. I  am grateful that I am healthy enough at age 65 to enjoy the work I do, and most especially work with people, like you to move you into a home of yout dreams and/or an investment as part of their financial portfolio. 

From this profile, I hope you realize that I am a person of knowledge from many life experiences and training, that I am always working to educate myself to better my service to clients and that I am a man whom you can believe in as a friend and Realtor.
